Research and Projects

My Master's research mostly focused on fabricating Superhydrophobic surface and testing the anti-biofouling properties of SHSs. I also observing the bacterial attachment behavior on surfaces using digital holography. After taking hologram images, rest of the works mainly image processing to find 3D tacking of bacteria. We are trying to figure out why most of the bacteria stay near the surface while less in the bulk region. During my undergrad in BUET, I worked on computational fluid mechanics using Ansys(Fluent) commercial software. My work was on high speed aerodynamics. I designed a converging nozzle to observe an underexpanded jet. Rather than, I worked on thermo-fluid equipment design: shell & tube heat exchanger. Instrumention and measurement project: smart erasing system(whitebaord) and continnum mechanics course project plane stress and strain analysis of a circular disk using Comsol multiphysics commercial software.

Computational Tools and Analytical Instrument
While MSc research works are mostly experimental, my undergrad works was fully computational. These works demand learning modern research analytical instruments, machine tools as well as latest programming languages, computational tools, and Software. Here is a list of programming and computing skills and analytical instruments I have often used during my undergrad and MS research:

-
Programming language: Matlab, Python,, C/C++.
-
Modeling and simulation: ANSYS-Fluent, COMSOL Multiphysics, Gambit. .
-
Engineering design: Solidworks, AutoCAD.
-
Word Processing and Presentation: Latex, Microsoft Office.
-
Database and Post-processing: Tecplot, ImageJ, Inkscape.
-
Experimental Equipment: Digital Holographic Microscopy (DHM)
-
Analytical characterization instruments: Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Gold sputter coating machine, High-speed camera.
